Everyone likes random facts, don't they? You hear it every where. Take the Snapples caps for instance; they have random facts on them that are pretty interesting. Well, while you are at it, why not read some random facts about insects? I promise they will be interesting...

#1. I know I know...this is probably one of the most often quoted ones...which is why I will post it! Ants, on average, can lift about five times their weight. That's like an average adult male (72kg) lifting over 360kg (770lb)! Impressive, huh? Anyone as strong as an ant would make Liao Hui green with envy!

#2. You want to know something even more impressive? Okay, ants can lift five times their own weight...but that's nothing compared to this: Dynastes hercules, commonly known as herculese beetles, can lift up to 850 times their weight! 850!! An average adult male with the strength of a Dynastes hercules would be able to lift over 60 tons! Doesn't seem like a lot to you? Imagine a guy holding a 45t truck with about 6 Hyundai Sonatas on it. Geez...no wonder they call it Herculese...

#3. Which animal do you think is the fastest land animal? Cheetahs, right? But take a look at this. Cicindela hudsoni, an Austrailian tiger beetle, can move at over 9km(5.5miles) per hour. That's pretty impressive as it means that the beetle moves about 130 body lengths a second. Considering that a cheetah runs at about 18 body lengths per second, that is one fast 6-legged beast. A cheetah-sized tiger beetle would be moving at around 694km (433miles) per hour...Beetle Express!!!

#4. Spider silk is stronger than any synthesized fabric. A strand of it the thickness of a paper clip can support the weight of a grand piano...crazy! No wonder Spiderman's webs are so strong...Apparently, critics have shown through calculations that Spiderman would have to wait for approximately 7 hours for his web to dry at the thickness that he shoots it. That would make one heck of a slow super hero...
