Groton School is a private boarding school next to Groton, Massachusetts.  It was founded in 1884 by Endicott Peabody. With a student body of approximately 380 individuals, Groton is a comparatively small school. It is also quite unique in that it is one of the only schools in the high ranking high schools that supports grades 8 through 12. Groton School has many traditions, including, but not restricted to, 8th grade students pulling varsity teams on a wooden cart on St. Mark's Day in the fall and the spring, handshaking at check-in every evening, and attending roll call in the morning after chapel.

Groton School has a vast expanse of forest inside its campus, and there is also a river as well as vernal pools which would provide another type of habitat for insects. Inside these forests a diverse array of flora and fauna flourish, arthropods being one of the leading 'phylum.' It is my goal to go through most of the forest and collect insects from various parts of Groton campus before I graduate.

Update: Now that I have graduated....I didn't even come close to accomplishing my goal at Groton. The forest is simply too big for me to cover...maybe one day someone at Groton will take up my mantle and continue what I began! It was a great five years that I had at Groton, and I will miss it, especially my second formers =)
    Thank you, Groton.
